Yang Ha Korea, b. 1994

Overview

Yang Ha graduated from the painting department at Ewha Womans University and the Frank Moore Institute and works in Seoul and Amsterdam. Yang Ha collects contradictory images from historical or religious events and then reconstructs them on a flat surface. Particularly inspired by the "2020 North-South Joint Liaison Office Explosion Incident" experienced in the Netherlands, she visualizes various forms of violence that exist everywhere through the image of "explosion." Yang Ha's work is characterized by the manipulation of the reality, unfolding them softly like clouds. Using bright pastel tones and a variety of materials, multiple textures and forms overlap, revealing a unique, seemingly innocent yet cynical attitude.
